Great to meet you!

I have been working in mental health for over 20 years in a variety of roles including individual counseling, school counseling, special education, crisis counseling, play therapy, and parent coaching. I specialize in helping neurodiverse individuals heal from attachment wounds, anxiety, grief, trauma, and complex trauma. Using EMDR, CBT, Internal Family Systems Therapy, and nervous system-informed therapy, I provide compassionate, neuro-affirming, evidence-based care that helps you build resilience, strengthen your relationships, and create lasting change. I completed my Masters in Counseling and School Counseling at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. I also have advanced training in neurodiversity affirming practices in both the education and mental health settings, EMDRIA approved advanced training in EMDR through EMDR Center of the Rockies, and various play therapy trainings through the Colorado Association of Play Therapists. I continue to refine my skills through regular consultation with other professionals, certified continuing education classes, and professional association conferences and events.

My approach to therapy

My approach is grounded in the belief that symptoms often make sense in the context of your life experiences. Rather than focusing only on symptom management, I help clients understand how trauma, attachment, and chronic stress affect the nervous system, emotions, beliefs, and behaviors. Healing begins with compassion for these patterns and learning new ways to respond to ourselves and others. Therapy with me is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your goals. I integrate EMDR, CBT, Internal Family Systems Therapy, attachment-based interventions, mindfulness, and nervous system regulation strategies to support trauma processing, relationship healing, emotional regulation, and lasting change.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, we will discuss your primary concerns and your reasons for starting therapy. I will also conduct a general mental health assessment, gather information about your history, and may add other specialized assessments based on your unique needs and goals for therapy. We can then collaborate on your goals for therapy, and I will develop a treatment plan to help you toward your goals.
