Great to meet you!

I'm Dr. Lori Futterman, a clinical psychologist with over four decades of experience helping individuals navigate emotional challenges, life transitions, and the connection between physical and mental health. My practice has a particular focus on women's health, trauma, and concerns related to sexual well-being. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, mood changes, infertility, pregnancy and postpartum challenges, menopause, and the emotional impact of medical conditions. With a background in both nursing and psychology, I recognize how closely our physical and emotional experiences are connected. My goal is to help you better understand what you're going through, regain a sense of balance, and improve your overall well-being.

My approach to therapy

I believe effective therapy begins with understanding the whole person, not simply addressing individual symptoms. My approach is grounded in clinical research and tailored to your unique experiences, concerns, and goals. I draw from a range of therapeutic methods, including EMDR, cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness, and psychodynamic therapy, to help you process difficult experiences, develop healthier ways of coping, and create meaningful change. When appropriate, I also value collaboration with other healthcare professionals to ensure your emotional and physical health are considered together. My focus is on providing thoughtful, individualized care that helps you gain perspective, build resilience, and feel more confident navigating life's challenges.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for me to learn about you, your concerns, and what you're hoping to achieve through therapy. We'll discuss the challenges you're experiencing, relevant aspects of your personal and health history, and how these concerns may be affecting your daily life and relationships. I'll take time to understand your individual needs and answer questions about how we might approach treatment. From there, we can begin developing a plan that reflects your goals and circumstances. My intention is to provide a thoughtful, collaborative experience where you feel comfortable discussing your concerns and confident that your care is tailored to you.
