Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Dr. Lori. I’m a dedicated and experienced healer who will walk beside you with steadiness and compassion on your journey toward healing and growth.

I hold a Ph.D. in Counseling and Education and bring a rich background as a counselor across diverse settings, as well as a former full-time professor of counseling. I now maintain a small, focused private practice where I provide individualized care grounded in deep clinical knowledge and human connection.

While I specialize in grief, trauma, anxiety, imposter syndrome, and perfectionism, my work spans a wide range of mental health concerns. I have a particular passion for supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community and creating an affirming space for all identities.

Many of my clients carry heavy burdens—worries about self-worth, unspoken or unresolved trauma, questions about identity, life direction, or whether they will ever feel whole again. Together, we explore these complexities with curiosity and care, honoring how personal narratives are shaped by lived experience, family systems, and cultural context.

My approach to therapy

I offer a holistic, integrative approach to counseling that honors the uniqueness of each client. Grounded in mindfulness, humanistic principles, and the mind-body-heart-energy connection, my practice is centered on creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where meaningful exploration and growth can occur.

I meet each individual with empathy, openness, and respect, recognizing that you are not broken and do not need fixing. While it’s natural to feel lost at times, therapy is a space to explore—not to be judged. Your thoughts, feelings, and experiences are valid, and your presence here reflects courage and readiness for change.

You do not need to have all the answers or a clear destination to begin this journey. Wherever you are, we can begin there—together!

What you can expect from me

Clients often experience a sense of relief and acceptance early in our work together, supported by my highly integrative and individualized approach. You can expect honesty, transparency, and direct communication—and I invite the same from you, as mutual authenticity is essential to the therapeutic process.

Through our sessions, you will gain deeper self-awareness, practical insights, and evidence-informed tools tailored to your needs. I will also offer thoughtful, real-world practices and “experiments” to help you integrate what we explore in therapy into your daily life.

Together, we will co-create a collaborative, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space—one that honors your experiences and supports your personal growth, healing, and wellness.
