Great to meet you!

I’m Lorie Nguyen, LCSW, and I help adults and young adults create meaningful, sustainable change through small, intentional shifts. My style is warm, relational, and trauma-informed, and I aim to create a space where you feel safe showing up as your full, authentic self.

I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, relationship patterns, identity exploration, boundary-setting, cultural and intergenerational stress, and life transitions. Together, we explore the patterns shaping your emotions, relationships, and sense of self while identifying practical ways to move forward.

As a first-generation Vietnamese-American, I value culturally responsive care and recognize how culture, family expectations, and systemic experiences shape the way we move through the world.

I earned my BA in Sociology from UC Santa Barbara and my MSW from USC, and bring over 10 years of experience supporting diverse communities.

Healing doesn’t require massive leaps — just small, meaningful shifts.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, open, and encouraging. I draw on my clinical training, professional experience, creativity, and a light-hearted sense of humor to create a compassionate and supportive space for growth. I believe meaningful change happens when we are given the guidance and support to recognize our strengths and reconnect with what makes us uniquely ourselves. Together, we work to build insight, develop practical tools, and help you move toward living more authentically and in alignment with the life you want.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll start with brief introductions and talk about what’s bringing you to therapy right now. You’ll have space to share the challenges you’re facing, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you hope might change. My goal is to gain a clear understanding of your story so we can begin identifying helpful areas of focus and create a plan for our work together moving forward.
