Great to meet you!

I believe, it is not 'what' we are facing but how we are 'relating' that makes the difference in our life outcomes. Whether you are challenged by anxiety, depression, self-esteem, family trauma, relationship issues, career insecurity, or a loss of meaning, you no longer have to face it alone. Together, we’ll explore the inner depths of your psyche, unlock painful patterns, deepen awareness and insight, build resilience and resolve, and foster a more meaningful relationship to life. Having lived as a Buddhist monk for twelve years, I bring a grounded appreciation for presence, contemplation, and the full range of human experience.

I offer a blend of clinical depth, timeless wisdom, and profound presence. I work with individuals, couples, and families seeking greater authenticity, harmony, and connection. Utilizing Mindfulness, EMDR, and Somatic Therapy, I support adults impacted by traumatic histories, helping you move toward more grounded, resilient, and meaningful lives.

My hope is that through our work together, you find greater freedom, a deeper understanding of who you truly are, and the ability to integrate your experiences into a life of meaning, integrity, and alignment with your highest values. If you’re looking for a compassionate, thoughtful, and engaged therapist, I invite you to reach out for a consultation.

I work especially well with:

• Adults facing anxiety, depression, burnout, overwhelm, or feeling like they’re underperforming at their potential

• People recovering from or affected by addiction / substance use

• Folks with a history of trauma, complex trauma, or painful childhood family dynamics

• Individuals and couples struggling with conflict, intimacy, communication, or infidelity

• People wrestling with identity, values, purpose, and spiritual or existential questions

• Creatives, professionals, and “outsiders” who feel like they don’t quite fit the mold

My approach to therapy

My style is warm, direct, inquisitive, and at times gently challenging. I’m not a “smile and nod” therapist: I’ll listen closely, help you slow down, and reflect what I see with honesty and care.

A core part of our work is emotional development and emotional intelligence—recognizing and working with your feelings, and taking ownership of your core needs rather than abandoning them. We’ll also explore who you are, what matters most to you, and what kind of life and relationships you want, then work toward living in clearer alignment with your values and purpose.

I draw from mindfulness-based, relational, EMDR, existential, attachment, and depth-oriented approaches. In practice, this can look like exploring patterns in your relationships, processing painful experiences safely, bringing in mindfulness and body awareness, clarifying values, strengthening communication and boundaries, and at times gently guiding you into more liminal, less conscious layers of experience to work with deeper material.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my priority is to help you feel safe, understood, and not rushed.

We’ll start with what’s bringing you in right now—what hurts, what feels stuck, and what you’re hoping might be different. I’ll ask about your current symptoms, your relationships, any past therapy, and key pieces of your history, but there’s no pressure to “tell your whole life story” in one sitting. You get to set the pace.

I’ll also share how I work, answer any questions you have about therapy, EMDR, or the process in general, and begin to clarify what you want from our time together. Together, we’ll begin to establish a working relationship, come up with some initial agreements about how we’ll work, and name what you most hope to get out of therapy. In that same first session, we might start naming some initial goals for our work—but just as importantly, we’ll pay attention to how it feels to sit together and whether this feels like a good fit for you. I’ll also share the different ways we could approach your concerns—whether through talk therapy, EMDR, mindfulness-based work, more experiential / relational approaches, or (over time) depth-oriented work that gently explores liminal, less conscious layers of your experience when it feels safe to do so.

You can expect me to be engaged, present, and honest. I may gently reflect patterns I notice, invite you to slow down and check in with your body and emotions, and help you put words to things that have been hard to articulate. If something in the session doesn’t feel right, I welcome you naming that too—we can work with it together.
