Great to meet you!

My name is Lorraine Pollard (Lori), LPC-S and LMFT with over 30 years in mental health. After extensive work managing and developing professionals, I now focus on helping individuals and families in private practice. My specialties include anxiety, depression, boundary setting, and trauma, and I am EMDR-certified via EMDRIA. I have been married for 35 years and have two adult children, a son-in-law, and a dog named Aspen.

My approach to therapy

My approach is rooted in evidence-based practices while creating a safe and non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I tailor sessions to meet the unique needs and goals of my clients. Whether you are seeking support for managing stress, healing from past trauma, improving relationships, or finding clarity and purpose in life, I am here to help you on your journey. Together, we will work towards resiliency, promoting growth, restoring hope in the future, and empowering you to lead a more fulfilling life.

What you can expect from me

During your initial counseling session, which typically lasts about an hour and a half, you will be welcomed into a warm and inviting environment designed to help you feel comfortable and safe. This confidential setting provides you with the opportunity to openly share your story, express your concerns, and outline your goals for therapy. This visit is a time for you to talk about what brings you to counseling, including any specific issues or challenges you are currently facing. I may ask a few questions to better understand your background and present circumstances, as well as to clarify what you hope to achieve through our work together. This process helps us to begin establishing a trusting and collaborative relationship.

By the end of the session, you can expect to have a clearer idea of the issues we will address moving forward and to feel a sense of connection with your therapist. It is important to remember that counseling is a journey, and this first meeting marks the beginning of your path toward healing and personal growth.
