Great to meet you!

I subscribe to cognitive behavioral therapy, emphasizing the rational behavioral therapy modality. I hold a doctorate (EdD) in counseling and educational psychology from the University of San Francisco, where I also earned my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy. I earned a Master's in Divinity from the Franciscan School of Theology at the Graduate Theological Union. I have been practicing since 1987 and am a seasoned therapist.

My approach to therapy

I subscribe to the Rational Emotive therapy modality mindfulness interventions and draw from philosophical theories when working with clients.

What you can expect from me

RET draws on Stoic philosophy, which encourages indifference to external triggers (people, places, or things) without being callous. This theory focuses on irrational thoughts that lead to irrational feelings and behaviors and aims to replace them with rational, cognitive thoughts to help mitigate and change emotions and behaviors. The principle emphasizes focusing on what one can control, avoiding attempts to manage what is beyond control, and recognizing the distinction between the two.
