Louisa Triandis

I have over 25 years of experience working with children, teens, families, and adults. My practice is built on a simple but powerful idea: people grow faster when we focus on what's already working rather than cataloguing what isn't. I bring that same conviction to every session. I'm direct, warm, and genuinely invested in helping you get unstuck — whether that's you, your kid, or your whole family system. I offer telehealth sessions across Colorado and California, and in-person sessions in Boulder, CO.

My work is strengths-based, which means we spend less time excavating what went wrong and more time building the awareness and skills that move you forward. I draw on a range of approaches — CBT, DBT, Art Therapy, Play Therapy, and Brainspotting (a brain-based method for processing emotional and physical pain that doesn't require you to talk through everything in detail). For families and kids, I often use the Nurtured Heart Approach, a relationship model that rewires attention away from problems and toward moments of strength. I tailor everything to the person in front of me — there's no single-script approach here. You'll probably get a little homework between sessions; it's optional, but most clients find it helps things shift faster.

Expect a real conversation — not a checklist. In the first session, I want to understand what you're dealing with, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping for. I'll ask questions, but there's no pressure to have everything figured out or explained perfectly. By the end, you'll have a sense of how I work and we'll have a rough map of where to start. Most people leave the first session feeling more clear than when they walked in — and many find relief sooner than they expected. If you're bringing in a child or teen, I'll typically spend part of the first session with them alone and part with the family, depending on age and what's happening.
