Dr. Louise Thompson

Dr. Thompson is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of nursing expertise and over 9 years in psychiatry. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at Chamberlain College of Nursing and a master’s degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Loma Linda University. She serves patients 18 years and older with anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, Alcohol Use Disorder, Maternal Mental Health Pre/Postpartum, Schizophrenia and bipolar disorder in medication management and psychotherapy.

Dr. Louise utilizes an evidenced-based holistic approach balancing psychotherapy with a conservative and efficient medication management approach. Because every patient is unique, treatment is individualized and patient-centered. She believes in listening to patients in a non-judgmental, respectful, compassionate and empathetic atmosphere as the first step to a therapeutic alliance for overcoming personal obstacles for a more fulfilling quality of life.

She collaborates and engages patients in developing a plan of care and treatment goals. She ensures that no patient leaves a session without feeling educated about their diagnosis and medications, validated and empowered to start healing.
