Great to meet you!

My name is Lourdes Guiardinu, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 17 years of experience in the field of mental health. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals through a wide range of life and mental health challenges, and I remain deeply committed to helping each person I work with find healing, strength, and clarity.

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and mindful. I believe in creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can feel truly seen and heard. At the heart of my work is the belief that each person possesses an inner strength and resilience that, when nurtured, can become a powerful force for growth and transformation.

That philosophy is reflected in my practice, Windmills Mental Health Services. Just as windmills harness natural energy to generate power, I help my clients harness the power of their own minds—developing insight, self-awareness, and tools for lasting change. Whether you're facing anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, or just feeling stuck, I’m here to support your journey toward balance and well-being.

I look forward to walking alongside you as you move toward a life that feels more grounded, empowered, and authentically your own.

A bit about my approach to therapy

As a clinician, I approach therapy with the belief that every individual holds within them the potential for healing, growth, and resilience. My work is grounded in a deep respect for each person’s inner strength, and I strive to help my clients reconnect with that strength—especially during life’s most challenging moments.

At the core of my practice is mindfulness. I use mindful awareness to help clients slow down, observe their thoughts and emotions without judgment, and develop a greater sense of clarity and presence. This foundation supports a deeper connection to oneself and paves the way for meaningful, lasting change.

I integrate evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help identify and reframe unhelpful thinking patterns, and stress management techniques to build healthier responses to pressure, anxiety, and burnout. My approach is adaptable, collaborative, and focused on practical tools that can be used both inside and outside the therapy room.

I have a particular passion for working with first responders and those in high-stress, high-impact roles. I understand the unique psychological demands of these professions and provide a space where clients can safely process trauma, build resilience, and restore balance. In this work, I combine structured therapeutic interventions with compassion and cultural sensitivity, always honoring the strength and service of those I work with.

Whether you're navigating personal struggles, professional challenges, or long-standing patterns, therapy with me is a process of uncovering what already exists within you: the capacity to heal, grow, and thrive.

What you can expect from our first session

The goals I work toward in therapy often include:

  • Increasing emotional resilience and self-awareness
  • Managing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and trauma
  • Developing healthier thought patterns and coping mechanisms
  • Navigating life transitions or identity challenges
  • Reconnecting with a sense of purpose and inner calm

At Windmills Mental Health Services, I aim to help clients harness the power of their own minds—transforming challenges into opportunities for insight and empowerment. Therapy is not about "fixing" you; it’s about uncovering what’s already within you and building a life that aligns with your values, strengths, and hopes.
