Great to meet you!

I trained at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry — a medical school environment that shaped how I think about the relationship between physical and mental health. It's a connection I take seriously in my practice.

Through LG Counseling, I work with adults in upstate New York navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, chronic pain, end-of-life concerns, and the challenges that come with being a man trying to manage it all. I have a particular interest in helping men who haven't always had the language or the space to address their mental health directly.

I've been practicing for over five years, and my approach is focused on real, practical change — not just processing, but actually building the tools and perspective to live differently.

My approach to therapy

My approach is person-centered at its foundation — which means we start from your goals, your barriers, and your existing strengths, and build from there. But person-centered doesn't mean passive.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you develop psychological flexibility — learning to move toward what matters even when difficult thoughts and feelings are present. CBT and Trauma-Focused CBT address the specific thought patterns and trauma responses driving anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) challenges the irrational beliefs that fuel emotional distress and keep people stuck. Behavioral Activation builds momentum when depression has made everything feel too heavy to start.

Together, we identify what you want to change and figure out the most direct path to get there.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is about getting to know you and establishing a clear direction. We'll explore your current challenges, any relevant history, what's causing the most difficulty right now, and where you want to be when our work is done.

From there, we'll talk about how I can help and what the path forward looks like. By the end, you'll have a concrete sense of what we're working toward — not just a general plan, but specific changes you want to see in yourself and your life.
