Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Luis, a first-generation Salvadoran American, Bay Area native, and Licensed Clinical Social Worker with overall 11 years of experience in mental health. Throughout my career, I’ve provided therapy to children and adults across a variety of settings, including wraparound multidisciplinary teams, foster care, residential treatment, inpatient psychiatric care, outpatient mental health clinics, corrections, and now private practice. These experiences have shaped my ability to connect with people from different backgrounds and support clients through trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and other complex life experiences. As a therapist, I strive to create a space where you can be yourself, feel understood, and speak freely without fear of judgment. Tambien Hablo Espanol!

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is solution oriented, conversational, and collaborative. I’m not the type of therapist who will just sit back, nod, and ask, “How does that make you feel?” I’ll listen and give you space when you need it, but I’ll also ask questions, offer a different perspective, and challenge you when it can help you grow. My goal is to teach how to think like a therapist so you can learn to solve things on your own. I draw from strengths-based, solution-focused, and cognitive behavioral approaches while adapting therapy to who you are and what you need.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is about getting to know you beyond the diagnosis and list of symptoms. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what has been going on in your life, what’s important to you, and what you would like to see change. You don’t need to have everything figured out... just showing up is enough to get started. My priority is creating a comfortable, judgment-free space where you can show up as yourself and you leaving with a clearer idea of where we’re headed.
