Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Dr. V (she/her), a Chicanx therapist and relationship anarchist with 17 years of experience. I work with adults who are navigating identity, relationships, and the weight of living inside systems that weren't built for them. Much of my work is with LGBTQIA+ and trans clients, people exploring their cultural and ethnic identity, and folks practicing polyamory, relationship anarchy, and other forms of non-monogamy. You won't have to explain or defend who you are or how you love here. We start from where you actually are.

My approach to therapy

I believe healing happens on more than one level. Some of what hurts is personal. Some of it comes from oppression pressing in from the outside...and some of it touches the big questions of meaning and purpose. My work draws on liberation psychology alongside existential, humanistic, and transpersonal perspectives, and I bring in Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness-based approaches, and experiential work. The goal isn't only to cope. It's to understand the forces shaping your life and to reclaim more freedom within it.

What you can expect from me

We'll start by getting clear on what you want, then build a plan together. From there, our sessions are focused and collaborative, and you'll leave with tools you can use right away. Expect honesty, warmth, and real effort from both of us, plus some laughter along the way.
