Great to meet you!

On the outside, you may appear capable and successful, while inside you may feel anxious, self-critical, or uncertain in your relationships. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, perfectionism, work stress, low self-worth, relationship concerns, and family-of-origin patterns.

I have a particular interest in supporting first-generation immigrants and Chinese and other Asian professionals as they navigate cultural expectations, family responsibilities, identity, and life in the United States. I provide therapy in both English and Mandarin.

My clinical background includes community mental health and working with culturally diverse individuals and families. As a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I offer a warm, thoughtful, and honest space where you can feel understood while working toward meaningful and sustainable change.

My approach to therapy

My approach is integrative, culturally responsive, and tailored to each client. I draw from psychodynamic and attachment-based therapy to help you understand how earlier relationships, family experiences, and cultural messages may continue to shape your emotions and choices today.

I also incorporate practical strategies from CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy. Our work may include both deeper exploration and concrete skills for managing anxiety, regulating emotions, communicating more effectively, and changing patterns that no longer serve you.

Because every client is different, I will adapt our work to your needs, personality, and goals. We will move at a pace that feels manageable while gently and honestly exploring areas where meaningful change may be possible.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I will invite you to share what brings you to therapy, what has been most difficult recently, and what you hope will be different. We may talk about your current stressors, important relationships, family and cultural background, previous therapy experiences, strengths, and initial goals.

You do not need to tell me everything at once or arrive with a perfectly organized story. I may ask thoughtful and direct questions, but we will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

By the end of the session, we will identify some initial priorities and discuss how we might work together. My goal is for you to leave with a clearer understanding of what you are experiencing and a practical sense of the next step.
