Hello and welcome to my Headway profile! I'd like to start by saying that I am open minded and understanding to a wide array of mental health needs. There is nothing you can say in YOUR session that will offend me. I am Puerto Rican and Spanish is my first language. I grew up in a military community with a variety of cultures. I have an at risk youth specialization, have experience in emergent psychiatric needs, family dynamics, conflict resolution, anxiety and self care.
I am laid back and will follow your lead. My goal is to foster an open environment and communication. I am empathetic, not easily flustered and believe in the power of communication. I can throw in some light hearted humorous tokens as needed to support a healthy therapeutic and judgement free zone. I love serving others and supporting them in meeting their therapeutic goals. I am not doing my job if you are not thriving.
In our sessions expect to be challenged mentally. I am direct, thorough and at times will give you "challenges." Challenges are task design to make you think outside the box, practice coping skill and encourage self awareness. Ultimately they are to help you meet your personal therapeutic goals.
