My name is Lurlene Holder. I have been practicing clinical social work providing therapy for over 20 years. I enjoy working with adults and children. I graduated from Fordham University with a Master Degree in Social Work. I was trained in Trauma work, Family Therapy, and Cognitive Behavior therapy.
I recognize starting therapy may be challenging because you have to share important and difficult parts of your life with a stranger. My role is to make you feel comfortable and valued so you are able to work on the issues that are impacting your life in a negative manner. We set a treatment goal after the first 2 sessions focusing on long term and short-term goals which include a time frame to achieve those goals.
My sessions are interactive giving you coping skills to manage your issues in between sessions. I create a nonjudgmental space in therapy where you feel comfortable to share your thoughts and feelings.
