Great to meet you!

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re dealing with trauma, substance use, anger, life challeges or depression. Many of the people I work with come in feeling unsure or even fearful of the process, often because of past experiences or the stigma around mental health. You don’t have to go through that alone. My goal is to provide a space where you can begin to feel safe, understood, and supported from the very beginning.

I work closely with individuals rebuilding their lives, including those impacted by domestic violence, helping them focus on the present and move forward with greater clarity and stability. I’m known for my ability to build strong rapport and truly listen, taking time to understand your story before jumping into solutions. Clients should expect to feel heard and supported throughout our time together. I want my clients to feel safe and empowered during their time with me, and I feel privileged to help my clients achieve their goals and improve their lives.

Outside of my work, I enjoy quilting for stress relief, cooking and sharing cultural traditions with my granddaughter, and reading a wide range of books, which helps me stay grounded and connected to what brings meaning and balance in life.

My approach to therapy

My approach is compassionate, culturally aware, and grounded in deep listening. I work with many individuals from diverse backgrounds, including Alaska Native communities, and I take care to understand your cultural perspective and lived experience as part of the healing process.

I use a motivational interviewing style along with strength-based strategies to help you gain clarity, build self-awareness, and move toward meaningful change. I focus on helping you feel understood first, then supported in taking steps forward at your own pace. I hope clients will be able to positively grow while working together, while feeling respected and encouraged throughout the process.

What you can expect from me

In your first session, the focus will be on creating a space where you feel comfortable and not rushed. I understand that many people come in feeling nervous or unsure, so we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you.

We’ll talk about what’s been going on, what you’d like to change, and what feeling better looks like for you. I’ll spend time listening and understanding your experience before offering direction, so you feel truly heard. Clients should expect to feel heard and supported throughout our time together, starting from the very first session.

My goal is for you to leave feeling safe, empowered, and more confident about taking the next steps forward.
