Great to meet you!

Hello, there! My name is Luvhiña (Luv-veen-nyah) and I am a licensed independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) based in Rhode Island. I’ve been a social worker for 12 years and my experience ranges from case management, research/grant writing, program development, clinical therapy, diagnosing, and training/supervising. I’ve worked with individuals and families ranging from infants to adults addressing concerns related to mental/behavioral health, family relationships, trauma, addiction, homelessness, lack of resources, parenting, adolescent behavior and family empowerment. I founded Together in Grace Counseling LLC to continue assisting individuals/families in addressing their concerns to better their lives; and we can do that together and, in grace.

My approach to therapy

Clients can expect to be provided with a space that is accepting and understanding. Life can already be difficult and I am looking to help you identity points and moments for growth, learning and application so you can live a life that is fulfilling to YOU.

I’ve always been a collaborator and I find working alongside clients to be the most rewarding experience that can produce a positive outcome. I’m often described as warm, humorous, affirming, open-minded, inquisitive and direct. These attributes are quite present within my work and how I engage with the world which includes you.

What you can expect from me

I can help address a range of concerns such as, but not limited to, depression/anxiety, relationship issues, grief/loss, spirituality/religion, stress management, women’s issues, cultural/ethnic issues, and trauma. Therapy isn’t a ‘one-size-fits-all’ and such, I integrate varying modalities like person-centered, strengths-based, psychodynamic, motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy. I keep these techniques in mind as an initial framework and as we develop a working relationship, the model that best suits you will be utilized. We can work together to figure out what best suits you and can help you further in this journey that you have chosen.
