Great to meet you!

Welcome to my page, please allow me to tell you more about me: I am a Native Spanish-English bilingual Clinician living and raising a family in New Jersey for more than 26 years. I am originally from Colombia, South America, where I began my career in Professional Social Work. For the last 10+ years, I have worked with Children, Adolescents, and their parents, helping them navigate life challenges and transitions. My experiences with children experiencing behavioral issues and struggling at school, adolescents experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, and loss, and peer relationship difficulties have been rewarding and challenging. I follow a trauma-informed approach to help clients overcome obstacles and achieve mental health wellness. I enjoy helping teens/young adults transition to college, launch into adulthood, and thrive. Adults experiencing difficulties also benefit from a warm, friendly, and safe space to build resilience and emotional well-being. When you choose to work together, you'll receive culturally respectful support and psychoeducational tools to help you live the life you deserve. I use best practices in treatment with a person-centered approach. On a personal level, I enjoy learning, gardening, movies, painting, and long walks in nature. I am excited you are considering embarking on this healthy journey with me.

My approach to therapy

I approach therapy as a collaboration guided by your needs and goals. I meet you where you are. I am friendly, warm, and welcome challenges as opportunities for growth. I use CBT-based approaches, trauma-informed practices, and art as a tool for expression and healing. I focus on helping you get where you need to be. I use different modalities according to the client's needs, and I am always open to exploring new developments in the behavioral health field.

What you can expect from me

Our first Telehealth session will be set up with your privacy and confidentiality in mind. You'll need to be in a safe and private place. Your comfort and safety are paramount, so please dedicate our time together to focus on you. We will work on building a supportive relationship while striving to avoid interruptions and safety issues. I expect our sessions to begin and end on time. We will discuss the reasons/symptoms that brought you to our healing space, go over initial assessments, and chart our process together. You'll be able to provide relevant information about yourself, your family background and history, and your hopes and needs. At times, life throws a curveball, and sessions will need to be rescheduled. I ask both of us to be mindful of each other's time and make every effort to accommodate each other to avoid major interruptions to your treatment. Finally, I am here to listen and to accompany you on your own journey toward wellness and success.
