Great to meet you!

Welcome! I’m Luz Ventura-Polanco, MA, LPC, NCC, CCTP, a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to helping individuals, children, adolescents, and families navigate life’s challenges with compassion, understanding, and purpose.

I have experience working with clients in outpatient, in-home, school, and community-based settings, supporting concerns related to anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, trauma, family dynamics, life transitions, and relationship challenges. My approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and centered on creating a safe space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered.

I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and families, incorporating approaches such as play therapy, art-based interventions, psychoeducation, and evidence-based therapeutic techniques to support emotional growth and healing. I also provide parent coaching to help caregivers strengthen connection, improve communication, understand their child’s needs, and build healthier family patterns.

I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and my goal is to meet you where you are while helping you move toward the life and relationships you want to create. Whether you are seeking support through a difficult season, working through past experiences, or looking to better understand yourself and your relationships, I am honored to be part of that journey.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and focused on creating a safe space where clients feel understood, respected, and empowered. I believe therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process, so I work with each client to understand their unique experiences, strengths, challenges, and goals.

I utilize a trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach, integrating evidence-based therapeutic techniques while considering the impact of family dynamics, relationships, culture, and life experiences. My goal is to help clients develop greater self-awareness, strengthen emotional regulation, build healthier relationships, and create meaningful change.

I specialize in supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, life transitions, and relationship concerns. When working with children, I incorporate play therapy, creative interventions, and developmentally appropriate strategies to help them express emotions, build coping skills, and feel supported. With parents and families, I focus on strengthening connection, improving communication, and understanding behaviors through a compassionate lens.

I view therapy as a partnership. Together, we will explore your experiences, identify patterns that may no longer serve you, and develop tools that support healing, growth, and a more purposeful life.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, clients can expect a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment where we begin building a therapeutic relationship and understanding what brings you to therapy. We will discuss your current concerns, personal history, strengths, goals, and what you hope to gain from the therapeutic process.

My goal is for you to feel heard, respected, and comfortable sharing your experiences at your own pace. Together, we will begin identifying patterns, challenges, and areas where support may be helpful while creating a personalized plan that aligns with your needs.

For children and families, the first session may include learning about family dynamics, developmental history, current concerns, and strengths while creating a foundation for trust and collaboration. For parents, we will explore your goals, parenting experiences, and ways to support connection and emotional well-being within the family.

Therapy is a collaborative journey, and our first session is the beginning of creating a space where healing, growth, and meaningful change can take place.
