Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm Lydia Friese, a Licensed Professional Counselor (#86941). I earned my M.S. in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Counseling.

I believe therapy should be a place where you feel understood, respected, and able to be yourself. I enjoy working with adults at different stages of life, especially those navigating ADHD, BPD, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, relationships, or major life transitions. I’m passionate about helping people understand themselves without allowing a diagnosis to define them, rebuild their confidence, and recognize their own capacity for change.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy works best when you feel heard, understood, and comfortable being yourself. My approach is humanistic, person-centered, and collaborative. You know yourself best, but sometimes you need support to make sense of your thoughts, emotions, and patterns. Think of the therapy modalities CBT, DBT, ACT, and Solution-Focused therapy, like different search engines we can draw from to help you better understand yourself and navigate life. Together, we'll find what works best for you.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what brought you to therapy. You don't need to know exactly what to say or have everything figured out before you walk through the door. We'll talk about what's been going on, what you're hoping to change, and what feels most important to you. If you've completed assessments, we'll use them as another tool to better understand your experiences. From there, we'll begin making sense of things together and create a plan that feels right for you at your pace.
