Great to meet you!

Hi there! My name is Lyleanna (pronounced "LIL-ee-AH-nuh") and I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I went to Azusa Pacific University to obtain my Advance Practice Nursing education. I've worked in community and hospital psychiatry for most of my career.

I focus on medication management and enjoy working with individuals who are looking to get more support with managing their mental and emotional health. I have had many years of experience working with first-time or new-to-treatment individuals as well as with those who may have felt unheard by previous providers. I always say that medications will not be 100% of your care, as there will always be a multifaceted approach to manage your mental health and wellbeing. I provide supportive psychotherapy to try to tie-in and help strengthen those other means of supports in your life to promote long-term benefits. I am conservative in my prescribing style and will work on finding you "the right size that fits" since treatment is never "one size fits all."

My approach to therapy

My approach is supportive, collaborative, and grounded in respect. I believe that every person’s experience is unique, and I try my best to take the time to listen to better understand the concerns and aspects of life that contribute to your overall wellbeing. My goal is to work together on what matters most to you.

I aim to create a nonjudgmental and safe space where you can feel comfortable being honest — whether we’re talking about challenges, goals, or how you're responding to treatment. I prioritize providing clear explanations and involve you in decisions about your care.

Whether we're navigating medication options, referral options, mental health concerns, or life transitions, I'm here to support you.

What you can expect from me

Our first appointment will last between 60-90 minutes. This is a time for us to discuss your concerns as well as goals for treatment. It is also important to go over other aspects that contribute to your total picture such as medical health, past histories, etc. After gathering all the details that contribute to your picture, we would discuss treatment plans which can include medication, therapies, referrals to specialists or the most appropriate care for your current status. All treatment plans are thoroughly discussed.
