Great to meet you!

I began my career in education, working with underserved students. After interviewing high school students, I was struck by how deeply they wanted someone to truly listen to them. That experience inspired me to make a career change into counseling psychology.

I began my counseling career as a school counselor, but I quickly discovered that my true passion was therapy, which led me to transition into outpatient mental health. My heart lies in working with clients struggling with addiction. I find their experiences and their commitment to recovery deeply inspiring. I also enjoy working with anxiety and depression, as learning to manage these symptoms can be foundational to emotional wellness.

Psychology has been a lifelong passion for me, and I genuinely enjoy getting to know my clients and supporting them as they work toward greater well-being and meaningful change.

I am fluent in Spanish and provide therapy for clients who feel most comfortable expressing themselves in Spanish.

My approach to therapy

I incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused approaches to help clients build on their existing strengths. In sessions, clients are encouraged to explore what is already working in their lives and learn how to enhance these positive patterns. I also enjoy helping individuals identify and challenge the underlying thought patterns that may be hindering their well-being. One of my passions is exploring the connection between psychology and spirituality, and I enjoy exploring this theme with clients if it would be meaningful to their healing and growth.

What you can expect from me

Our first session will focus on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. I’ll ask about your personal and life history, current concerns, and any symptoms you may be experiencing so I can better understand your experiences and what may be contributing to your struggles. We’ll also begin identifying your goals for therapy. As we get to know one another, I’ll offer evidence-based strategies that I believe may support your healing and progress, while also seeking your input about what feels most helpful and meaningful to you.
