Great to meet you!

I'm an experienced therapist who specializes in working with individuals, couples, and families dealing with various mental health conditions and presenting challenges. I'm passionate about making genuine connections and have it feel like our work together doesn’t have to feel overly clinical or rigid. I value creating a space that isn’t serious all the time, there’s room for humor, lightness, and real connection, even as we move through meaningful and sometimes difficult topics. I use a person-centered approach to therapy, recognizing that each client has unique needs and requires tailored care. By providing a safe and supportive space, I hope to create a trusting therapeutic relationship that enables clients to feel heard, understood, and validated. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community with lived experience, I'm committed to providing compassionate and affirming care to this population. I understands the unique challenges and experiences that LGBTQ+ individuals face and I'm dedicated to helping them navigate these issues with empathy and support. Macayla earned her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Touro University Worldwide. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist CA LMFT158922.

My approach to therapy

At the core of my work is the belief that the relationship you have with yourself shapes every other relationship in your life. I support clients in building a stronger, more compassionate connection with themselves, learning how to understand their emotions, trust their inner experiences, and respond to themselves with care rather than criticism. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I often integrate modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Attachment Theory and trauma-informed approaches to help clients better understand themselves and build practical skills for managing distress, improving communication, and fostering healthier relationships.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, so I aim to create a space that feels open, approachable, and genuinely human from the very first session. My style is open-minded and nonjudgmental, where you can show up exactly as you are no need to filter or have everything figured out. In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know you, your experiences, what’s bringing you in, and what you’re hoping for. You set the pace, and together we’ll begin building a foundation of trust, safety, and authenticity.
