Great to meet you!

Dr Check is a compassionate, nonjudgmental, and dedicated healthcare provider who listens carefully and treats every person with dignity and respect. As a Doctor of Nursing Practice and dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health and Family Nurse Practitioner, I consider both mental and physical health when developing an individualized treatment plan. With more than 15 years of clinical experience, I provide evidence-based care and create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and actively involved in their treatment decisions.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is compassionate, collaborative, and patient-centered. I take time to listen, understand each client’s concerns, and consider both mental and physical health when developing an individualized treatment plan. I use evidence-based practices, provide clear education on treatment options, and encourage clients to actively participate in decisions about their care. My goal is to create a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where every client feels heard, supported, and empowered to improve their overall well-being.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, clients can expect a welcoming, confidential, and nonjudgmental conversation focused on understanding their concerns, symptoms, medical and mental health history, current medications, lifestyle, and treatment goals. I take time to listen carefully, answer questions, and explain possible treatment options clearly. Together, we will develop an individualized plan that may include medication management, therapy recommendations, lifestyle changes, or additional resources. My goal is for every client to leave the session feeling heard, supported, and informed about the next steps in their care.
