Great to meet you!

Hello! A warm welcome to you and I am grateful that you are here. My name is Macie Shelton (formerly Manis) and I an a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) here in sunny CA. Just a little background info, I began practicing as an LMFT in January 2022 and opened my practice shortly after. In May 2024 I earned my PhD in Industrial Organizational Psychology as a personal goal. My love for learning has continually guided my personal and professional growth. For example, I enjoy sharing resources with my clients and evidence-based practices to take home in between sessions. As I learn more about you and listen to your story, beliefs, and thoughts, I strive to understand your unique experiences and support you through whatever challenges you may be facing by building on your strengths and honoring your individual journey. This is a space where you can feel comfortable sharing your feelings, expressing your thoughts, and exploring whatever is on your mind without fear of judgment. I am here to support you, and if you have any questions or interested in a consult, please reach out via message or click the link on my page.

My approach to therapy

I take a collaborative approach and have experience working with children, teens, and adults to address a variety of disorders. These include stress, trauma, grief, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, neurological disorders, parenting styles, and other mental health issues impairing functioning in daily routine. I am continuously learning through training, collaboration, and current readings to ensure quality care.

What you can expect from me

The treatment methods I implement are evidence-based. My training has mainly focused on behavioral and cognitive-behavioral, and strategic approaches. Many models derive from evidence-based practices as well that I integrate into treatment when working with specific populations. I implement psychoeducation and interventions to address the way we think and behave.
