Madalyn Leatherman

Hello! My name is Madalyn and I am a personal and professional believer in the gift of therapy. I have worked in a variety of settings, including residential addiction treatment, intensive outpatient programs, military bases, family counseling centers, women's health centers, and college campuses. I consider myself specialized in the areas of trauma, addiction, family/relational conflict, family of origin issues, eating disorders, and women's issues.

My approach to therapy is to intentionally collaborate with you to understand your story and identify the ways you hope your story can be re-authored in the future. I always love to know what my clients have found helpful or unhelpful from therapy in the past to create transparency in our relationship. I am drawn to humanistic approaches that aim to find the good in all of us and build on strengths and resiliency.

No matter what has led you here, I believe that the common denominator that must be present for therapy to be effective is to ensure that you feel understood, validated, and safe. Unfortunately, we don't all have access to a safe place to vent and feel validated in our day-to-day lives, so I aim for my sessions to provide this space for you. My hope is for you to leave each session with a clear conceptualization of the events brought you here and evidence-based strategies to meet your goals.
