Great to meet you!

Mental health treatment shouldn't feel like something that happens to you—it should feel like something you're actively creating for yourself. That's the foundation of how I practice as a psychiatric nurse practitioner.

Having trained at UCLA Health and worked across various clinical settings, I've witnessed firsthand how powerful it is when someone finally receives care that's designed specifically for them. Not for the textbook version of their diagnosis, but for the real person sitting in the room—with all their complexity, strengths, struggles, and dreams.

I specialize in helping adults navigate ADHD, OCD, PTSD/trauma, depression, anxiety, panic disorders, mood disorders, and bipolar disorder. My fluency in both English and Farsi enables me to provide culturally attuned care that respects the diverse backgrounds and experiences of my clients.

What distinguishes my approach is integration. With specialized training in nutrition, I understand how profoundly our physical health influences our mental state. This holistic perspective means we can explore multiple pathways to healing—not just medication management, but lifestyle factors, coping strategies, and whole-person wellness.

I create a therapeutic partnership where you're informed, involved, and empowered every step of the way. Whether intrusive thoughts are controlling your days, trauma is stealing your peace, focus feels impossible, or emotions feel unmanageable—we'll work collaboratively to develop practical strategies that align with your values and circumstances.

My approach to therapy

I am convinced that meaningful psychiatric care begins with truly recognizing the person before me, not as a diagnosis but as a human being worthy of compassion, dignity, and renewed hope. My approach is fundamentally relationship-centered, appreciating that the connection we cultivate carries equal significance to any medication we may explore. I am devoted to creating a space where you feel safe enough to be completely open about your struggles and previous treatment experiences.

When we partner on medication management, I contribute both clinical knowledge and genuine curiosity about your unique circumstances. I want to understand what your symptoms actually feel like from within, how they shape your daily life, what methods you have already tried, and what concerns you carry. I follow a cooperative model of psychiatry. We are authentic partners. I will offer clinical insight and direction, but the final choice always belongs to you. I will translate the science behind medications into approachable language, discuss realistic expectations, address possible side effects with transparency, and respect your autonomy throughout.

I monitor your treatment with careful attention, remain available when worries emerge, and adjust our course as your needs evolve. I also recognize that medication oversight operates within the larger context of your life, so I will explore your stress levels, relational dynamics, sleep patterns, and wellness factors that influence your overall health. No dimension of your world that affects your mental well-being falls outside the scope of our conversation.

My goal is empowering you to reclaim your life from mental health symptoms, to feel more grounded, capable, and optimistic about what awaits. I honor your progress and stand beside you through every challenge, recognizing that healing requires both patience and courage. You deserve nothing less than care that is as committed to your future as you are.

What you can expect from me

Expect your initial appointment to be comprehensive, compassionate, and collaborative. We will start with your current concerns—the symptoms or emotions that led you to seek help. I want to understand not only what you are experiencing but how it is touching every aspect of your life. We will discuss when these challenges first appeared, whether they have been steady or come and go, what eases or worsens them, and what you have already attempted.

I will collect detailed history, asking about previous mental health diagnoses, treatment experiences, medications, and any hospitalizations. I will also explore your physical health, current prescriptions, allergies, substance use, and family mental health background. We will review your present life situation—your work, relationships, stressors, and support network—because mental health never exists in isolation.

When we discuss medication management, I will prioritize openness and partnership. I will outline options in clear language, covering how they function, which symptoms they address, anticipated benefits, and potential side effects. I will share realistic timelines for improvement, as many psychiatric medications require time to demonstrate their full effectiveness. We will address any reservations with honesty and compassion, because your comfort with our plan matters deeply to me.

I believe in shared decision-making—your preferences and concerns directly influence our treatment direction. We will also explore non-medication strategies that strengthen mental health, including lifestyle adjustments and stress management techniques.

By our session's end, you will have a personalized treatment plan that feels right for you, with follow-up appointments arranged to track your progress. I stay accessible between visits, and I am committed to your recovery every step of the way. You will never leave our first appointment without feeling genuinely cared for and completely supported.
