Hey! I'm Maddison Adimora, a nationally-accredited Licensed Professional Counselor based in Texas. I started iMINDS with people like you and I in mind. I wanted a completely virtual experience allowing my clients to create a safe space wherever they are to engage in therapeutic healing. I wanted therapy and coaching to have few limitations and be easily accessible for Black people and people of color all over the world.
I believe that healing is a journey for everyone including myself, my peers, like-minded professionals, "the individual," or just the person that needs a safe un-biased space to process stuff. We all go through things and this human experience can be frustrating, tiresome, but also really worth it. As with any journey there are going to be some days where things are not fun, and you will ask yourself, “Why am I in therapy?” Well you can rest assured that as a Licensed Professional Counselor that adheres to a governing body of ethics, I will be with you every step of the way.
Hey. I get it it. I went to therapy and discovered that by pouring into myself and doing the work, I was becoming the woman I had always imagined being. Yes, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and life coach, but I am a Black woman first and foremost, and I can understand the day-to-day challenges that you may face. Therapy helped me manage that. I see you. I understand how women of color have to balance it all and navigate the channels of life to escape negative labels, strong opinions, and judgement without people hearing you speak one word. I have laid down my cape of “Strong Black Woman” to indulge in and exude luxury while simultaneously protecting my peace, and I want that for you too!
In session, my clients can attest that by investing in themselves and committing to doing to the work that they have found they not only get what they desire out of life, but get what they truly deserve. Every time a client is with me, I ensure to craft a safe space, free of judgement, where you can cry, laugh, and everything in between. When you are doing healing work, a range of feelings including anxiety, depression, self-sabotage, guilt, shame, trauma, not-belonging, and low self-esteem will be unpacked and it will not be easy. However, once you are on the other side, it is worth it, because you did it for you. I can’t do the work for you, but when I am with you, you will feel seen, heard, understood, empowered, and affirmed. Believe that!
