Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Maddy Egner, LPC-MHSP. I believe therapy works best when you feel truly seen, heard, and understood. My approach is person-centered, meaning I meet you where you are and tailor treatment to your unique needs and goals. I also believe humor can be healing — even in the midst of hard things — and I strive to create a space that feels both safe and authentic. A little laughter and (when appropriate) dark humor can really help us shift, take action, and grow.

I earned my degree from West Texas A&M University and am licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor – Mental Health Service Provider in Tennessee. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply ready for growth, I would be honored to walk alongside you.

***Please note, I only offer in person sessions on Mondays. I offer telehealth sessions Tuesday and Thursday. All initial free 15 consultations will be done via phone call.***

My approach to therapy

IT'S OKAY TO LAUGH IN THERAPY, and we likely will.

I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, bipolar disorder, social skills challenges, and the unique stressors that come with military life. My goal is to help you build insight, resilience, and practical tools that support lasting change. I don't have a magic wand, so creating a partnership of participation and action is a powerful way to facilitate the change you desire.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a welcoming, relaxed, and judgment-free environment. My goal is to help you feel comfortable and heard from the very beginning. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, what feels most pressing right now, and what you hope will be different as a result of our work together.

I’ll ask some questions to better understand your history, current stressors, strengths, and support systems. Together, we’ll begin identifying clear, meaningful goals — whether that’s reducing anxiety, improving mood stability, strengthening relationships, building coping skills, or simply feeling more grounded and confident in daily life.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you arrive. The first session is about building connection, creating safety, and setting a foundation for the work ahead. My hope is that you leave feeling understood, supported, and hopeful about the path forward.
