Madeleine Barker

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who works primarily with adolescents and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, and other life challenges. I earned my undergraduate degree in History from the University of Florida, with a concentration in Holocaust Studies, and completed my master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Nova Southeastern University. My clinical training included working with individuals affected by schizophrenia and substance use. I have always had a passion for helping others and view mental health through a compassionate, holistic lens.

My approach is integrated, collaborative, and tailored to each client’s unique needs. I draw from several therapeutic methods, including cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic techniques, to help clients understand their experiences, develop effective coping skills, and create meaningful change. I believe that a strong, trusting relationship between client and therapist provides the foundation for healing and personal growth. Above all, I strive to offer care that recognizes each client as a whole person.

During our first session, you can expect a safe, warm, and nonjudgmental environment where you are encouraged to be yourself and speak openly. We will discuss what brought you to therapy, explore the challenges you are facing, and identify what you hope to gain from our work together. We will also begin establishing goals and considering an approach that fits your individual needs. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and comfortable taking the next step toward healing and growth.
