Great to meet you!
Sometimes, when we have storied pasts, we find ourselves stuck in patterns we can’t quite understand. Maybe you are having the same conflicts again and again with loved ones, or find you are attracting relationships that don’t serve you. Maybe you are regularly upset by things at home or at work that you think you should be "over by now," or you feel overwhelmed by negative thoughts about yourself and the world. Maybe you are a parent, and you’re noticing that despite your best efforts, you are engaging the same cycles that you know harmed you as a child. Trauma has a powerful way of keeping us stuck. That’s where therapy can help.
I specialize in treating trauma, and have extensive experience working with adults who are survivors of child abuse, sexual assault, and domestic violence. I am also skilled in treating anxiety, adjustment-related concerns, interpersonal challenges, and depression. I enjoy working with emerging adults and new parents. I am passionate about social justice initiatives and advocating for the holistic health needs of marginalized communities.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor, and Level II Certified Clinical Trauma Provider and have been working in the mental health field since 2015. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from James Madison University and later received my clinical mental health training in Tempe, Arizona in the Master of Counseling program at Arizona State University. I have provided care to clients in a multitude of treatment settings – including acute inpatient, long-term residential, community-based services and traditional outpatient clinics. My clinical training includes a focus on multiculturalism in counseling.
