Madeline Fellabom

As a Charleston native, I am grateful for the opportunity to work in my home community. After receiving a business degree from Clemson University, I moved to Chicago and worked in the corporate world before deciding to follow my passion for helping others. After returning to Charleston, I received my Masters Degree in Psychology: Clinical Counseling from The Citadel and began my career in private practice with Psychotherapy Charleston.

My passion for trauma-informed care grew from witnessing how often unresolved trauma underlies anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, and feeling stuck. My work recognizes that lasting healing happens not only through insight, but also through engaging the body and nervous system. I practice trauma-informed, somatic, and attachment-informed therapy, and I integrate evidence-based approaches, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and RTM (Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories), to support deep processing, nervous system regulation, and meaningful change.

I am also Gottman-trained in couples therapy and work with partners who are seeking to strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and create more secure and connected relationships.

I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families and am committed to creating an affirming, inclusive space for people of all races, sexualities, genders, and identities, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Whether you are navigating the challenges of adolescence, healing from past experiences, or working to strengthen your relationships, therapy can be a place to pause, reconnect, and move forward with greater intention.

My experience in the academic, athletic, and corporate world helps me to empathize and understand the performance pressures and associated anxieties that arise in both our professional and personal lives. As a therapist, I have an engaging approach that will support, encourage, and challenge you. I passionately believe that through collaboration you can reflect on your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and identify your blind spots and pain points.

Understanding your upbringing and relationship dynamics from an early age can help you become more self-aware and make connections to how you are relating with others. This increased self-awareness will be your starting point. With my support, you will use your insights to redirect your life to achieve the self acceptance and inner-peace that you seek.
