Great to meet you!

Hello! I am so happy to introduce myself to you. I have over 20 years of experience working as a therapist. I love being a therapist because I enjoy meeting new people and getting to know their stories. I’m a firm believer in treating the person in front of me, not the diagnosis or code. I don’t believe in seeing someone as their struggle. I help people cope with their symptoms or challenges and to become the best version of themselves. I use many therapeutic frameworks to accomplish this. I never follow one framework only. That shortchanges the opportunities for improvement to me.

My approach to therapy

I pride myself on creating a warm and welcoming environment in session. I use lots of humor if it’s appropriate. I believe in the power of laughter and if we can share tears in therapy, then there must also be laughter. I want my clients to feel empowered and encouraged to tackle their challenges. This can be accomplished with learning new strategies or interventions as we continue to work together.

What you can expect from me

I love first sessions. But I understand it can be intimidating for the client. My goal is to make it a welcoming experience. If the words aren’t coming out, I will often ask questions and start to get to know you. I enjoy meeting new people and truly enjoy hearing others stories. I will never sit in silence requiring the client to “go first”. But if you feel comfortable, then you have the floor and I will ask clarifying questions to make sure in following along, but I’m 100% listening to you.
