Great to meet you!

Dr. Iskierka is a psychiatrist who completed her medical training through a combined BA/MD program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, followed by psychiatry residency at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix. In addition to her outpatient telehealth practice in Arizona, she currently works as an inpatient psychiatrist with the Phoenix VA and has experience working in PHP/IOP settings in the Phoenix area, giving her a broad perspective on mental health care across different levels of acuity. She focuses on general adult psychiatry and medication management, helping patients navigate a wide range of concerns with practical, individualized care.

My approach to therapy

Dr. Iskierka takes a straightforward, collaborative approach to psychiatric care. Rather than dictating a treatment plan, she works with each patient to figure out what's actually going on and what they want to get out of care, then builds from there together. She stays flexible as treatment progresses, adjusting medications and strategies based on what's actually helping. Her experience across outpatient, VA, and inpatient psychiatry has given her a practical, direct approach grounded in real clinical judgment rather than rigid protocols.

What you can expect from me

The first appointment is really about getting to know you — your history, what's going on right now, and what you're hoping to get out of treatment. Dr. Iskierka will ask about your mental health history, relevant medical background, current medications, and any past treatment that has or hasn't worked for you. It's a conversation, not an interrogation, so there's plenty of room to bring up what matters most to you! By the end of the visit, you'll have a clear next step — whether that's starting or adjusting a medication, a referral for additional support, or a plan for what to discuss at the next appointment.
