Great to meet you!

I specialize in childhood trauma, PTSD, anxiety, self-esteem, and the complicated feelings that come with big life changes — divorce, loss, domestic violence, and everything in between. I work with children as young as 6, teens, and adults, and I tailor every session to the person in front of me, not a checklist.

My training is in Child Counseling from Texas Woman's University, and I hold my LPC in Texas. I use play therapy with younger kids because children express what they can't yet say — and that approach works. With teens and adults, I bring the same attentiveness with a more direct conversation style. I've been doing this work for 8 years, and the thing that keeps me in it is watching people realize they're capable of more than they thought.

I'm based in the DFW area and see all clients via telehealth across Texas. I accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, Cigna, Ascension, and Carelon.

My approach to therapy

My approach is trauma-informed first. I use Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) as a foundation — a structured, evidence-based method that's been proven to reduce trauma symptoms in children and adults alike. With kids, I layer in play therapy, which gives younger clients a way to process experiences they don't have words for yet. With adults, I lean on CBT and person-centered techniques, which means I follow your lead while also offering concrete skills to shift the patterns that aren't working.

I'm warm and direct in equal measure. I don't believe in stretching things out longer than they need to be. My goal is for you — or your child — to genuinely feel different, not just to feel heard. Sessions move at the client's pace, but I'm not a passive participant. I'll ask the questions that matter and offer observations that move the work forward.

What you can expect from me

The first session is about getting oriented — not jumping straight into the hard stuff. For children, I spend time letting them get comfortable with me while I gather context from parents (I'll typically schedule a brief parent-only check-in first). For teens and adults, we'll talk about what brought you here, what's been tried before, and what you're hoping changes. There's no pressure to have it all figured out before you show up.

By the end of that first session, you'll have a clear sense of how I work and what a realistic path forward looks like. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation before your first appointment — use it. It's the fastest way to know whether we're the right fit, and I'd rather you feel confident about that before we start.

Best availability: I afternoon, and weekend slots via telehealth — ideal for parents who need appointments around school hours, and adults who prefer evenings or weekends. Consistent weekly sessions are recommended at the start for trauma work.
