Great to meet you!

Welcome! I practice Narrative and Solution-focused Brief Therapy. It's more like a conversation, a back and forth dialogue where you have a nonjudgmental and accepting space to be able to slow down, consider options and figure things out. I ask specific types of questions and prompts to facilitate new ways of talking and thinking to help alleviate problems and access more solutions.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I use warmth, humor, understanding, and a sense of our shared humanity. I have extensive training Narrative Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy with an emphasis on working with trauma and resiliency. My PhD research looked at Narrative therapy and trauma - with a focus on the effects of re-authoring stories of resilience. I am also trained in EMDR, CBT, and Gottman Couples Therapy.

What you can expect from our first session

  • In our first few sessions, I’d like to try and help you feel comfortable and get to know you better. I’ll ask questions about your hopes for therapy, challenges you’re facing, and what you would like to accomplish in our work together.
  • There is an infinite number of ways in which people can critique and pathologize themselves -I help to redirect unhelpful ways of thinking about the self.
  • I help keep you focused on your strengths; centering what you do well and how to build more of that.
