Great to meet you!

Seeking support is a courageous first step, and you don't have to face life's challenges alone. For more than 35 years, I've helped adults, couples, and families navigate anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, and major life transitions. I provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment where you can feel heard, understood, and supported. In addition to my clinical work, I've trained thousands of therapists across the country and have authored more than 100 research articles and eight books on how people change and overcome life's challenges. I bring that experience to every client while recognizing that your goals, strengths, and experiences are uniquely your own.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, practical, and evidence-based. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Systems Therapy to help you identify the thoughts, behaviors, and relationship patterns that contribute to your difficulties. Together, we'll develop practical coping, problem-solving, and communication skills that foster resilience, healthier relationships, and lasting emotional well-being. Change can be challenging, and my role is to help you recognize and overcome the roadblocks that often stand in the way of meaningful, lasting change.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, explore your concerns, identify your strengths, and clarify your goals. I'll ask questions to better understand your experiences and begin developing a treatment plan tailored to your needs. You'll leave with a clearer understanding of how we'll work together and the first steps toward creating the changes you're seeking.
