Great to meet you!

If you’re here, chances are you’re looking for support, or at least curious about what therapy could look like for you. I’m glad you stopped by. Hi, I’m Mahek Dossani, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a master’s degree in counseling.

I work with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, self-esteem, relationship challenges, and big life transitions. Whether you’re carrying something heavy from your past, feeling stuck in worry, or just sensing that something needs to change, you don’t have to have it all figured out before you start. We’ll go at your pace.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I believe therapy works best when you feel seen, respected, and comfortable being yourself, so my goal is to create a space where you can talk openly without judgment. Together, we’ll look at what’s getting in your way, build on your strengths, and work toward meaningful change and personal growth.

My approach to therapy

I’m a person-centered therapist, which means I believe you are the expert on your own life. You’re in the driver’s seat, and my role is to walk alongside you, not tell you what to do. I focus on advocating for you and empowering you to trust your voice, recognize your strengths, and make choices that feel right for you.

I draw on evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused CBT, to help you understand the patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and build practical tools for change. I’m also a trauma-informed therapist trained in Brainspotting, a brain-body approach that can help process difficult experiences that are hard to put into words. Everything we do is shaped around your comfort, your goals, and your pace.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll talk about what’s bringing you to counseling. You can share as much or as little as you’re comfortable with, and there’s no pressure to have it all figured out. It’s also a chance for you to ask me questions and get a feel for whether we’re a good fit.
