Great to meet you!

Hi. I have lived in Tucson almost all my life and never tire of the weather. I enjoy hiking and just being outside, overall, so the sunshine the majority of the year keeps me busy.

I have a Doctorate in Behavioral Health Management and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, both were obtained from Arizona State University. I have been practicing for about 6 years and have been in outpatient settings, prison setting, VA facilities, and am currently in a residential facility. I have also managed a private practice for over 4 years, helping people with a wide variety of concerns. I have been trained in EMDR, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Sand Tray Therapy.

My approach to therapy

I have a very laid back approach to therapy. I take my role, as a guide, very seriously and have found that a relaxed approach is best for helping people feel comfortable opening up to me. I believe that all behavior is positive and well intentioned and only needs some tweaking to create the change needed.

I believe you are the expert in your life and will work collaboratively with you to help manage problems with anxiety, trauma, depression, and substance use. Not sure if therapy is right for you? I'm ready to explore those feelings and help you make an informed decision.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, I will introduce myself and tell you my experiences, education and training. I will also share my thoughts on what therapy looks like and let you know that you are the expert in your life. I will explain my role and how you can depend on me to help you. Together we will explore various aspects of your past, and present environments, to develop a comprehensive treatment plan. We will also review your screening scores and I may ask you to complete additional scales, depending on the direction we take. We will begin discussing the Autonomic Nervous system and how that relates to stress and trauma. We will also begin learning resourcing (self soothing) activities to practice outside of therapy.
