Great to meet you!
As a bicultural and bilingual therapist, I have the privilege of supporting individuals, couples, and families through life's transitions, challenges, and opportunities for growth. With over 26 years of experience as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), I have worked in community agencies and private practice, helping people from diverse backgrounds strengthen relationships, build resilience, and create meaningful change.
My background in anthropology, family therapy, life coaching, and EMDR helps me understand each person within the context of their relationships, culture, and life experiences. I believe every story deserves compassion, respect, and curiosity.
My work is grounded in a systemic perspective, recognizing that our struggles are often connected to how we relate to ourselves, others, and the world. As Jay Haley observed, "People's problems are often the solutions they have chosen to solve their problems." Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I explore the deeper patterns, strengths, and possibilities within each person's experience. I view every individual as a whole—mind, body, relationships, and spirit—shaped by both nature and nurture. Instead of asking, "What is wrong with you?" I ask, "What has happened to you, and what strengths have helped you survive and grow?"
Life's challenges, like ocean waves, can strengthen our ability to navigate change. While we cannot always control our circumstances, we can develop the awareness, skills, and resilience to move through them with confidence and purpose. My role is to provide a supportive, collaborative space where clients gain insight, reconnect with their strengths, and create lasting change. I believe healing grows through self-awareness, commitment, and a trusting therapeutic relationship. Change is a journey built on courage, resilience, and hope—and no one has to walk it alone.
