Great to meet you!

I have many years of experience working with adolescents and young adults struggling with the vast social, emotional, and academic transitions that are hallmarks of adolescence. Also, as both an alumna and a parent at NYC private schools, I understand the unique pressures of these environments. Another area of expertise is working with perinatal women, from pre-conception through the postpartum period.

A bit about my approach to therapy

In my experience, the relationship between patient and therapist is critical to the success of treatment: Patients need to feel safe, respected, and understood in order to do the work of therapy. I strive to establish a supportive, collaborative, and honest relationship that encourages growth and change. While I am trained and experienced in providing short-term treatment, I particularly enjoy working with patients in depth-oriented, longer-term psychotherapy.

What you can expect from our first session

We all experience moments when life feels overwhelming and hopeless, when we just can’t seem to get out of our own way. Therapy provides a safe, respectful partnership within which to make sense of our experiences and work together to find new ways to move forward. I work with people seeking help with a wide range of difficulties, including depression and anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, and significant life transitions (e.g., starting college, getting married, parenthood, divorce).
