Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Makayla Moynagh, APRN, PMHNP-BC, founder of The Kentucky Wellness Collective.

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care across the lifespan. My background includes experience in outpatient psychiatry, crisis stabilization, inpatient psychiatric care, and working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I earned my psychology degree from Centre College, my nursing degree from Bellarmine University, and my PMHNP degree from Frontier Nursing University.

My areas of interest include anxiety, depression, women's mental health, and supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized. I believe the best outcomes happen when clients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their treatment decisions. I combine evidence-based psychiatric care with a holistic perspective, recognizing the connection between mental, physical, and emotional well-being. My goal is to create a supportive, judgment-free environment where clients can build resilience, develop healthy coping skills, and move toward lasting wellness.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, clients can expect a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment where they can openly share their concerns, experiences, and goals. We will spend time discussing your current symptoms, mental health history, medical history, lifestyle factors, and any previous treatment experiences to gain a comprehensive understanding of your needs.

Together, we will identify your goals for treatment and develop an individualized plan that may include medication management, therapeutic interventions, lifestyle recommendations, or referrals when appropriate. My goal is for every client to leave the first appointment feeling heard, understood, and hopeful, with a clear understanding of the next steps in their mental health journey.
