Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Makeda (Kee)!

Many people come to therapy after spending so much time taking care of everyone else that they've lost sight of themselves. You may be carrying anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, trauma, or navigating a major life transition while trying to hold everything together on the outside. You don't have to carry it alone.

I believe therapy should be a place where you can show up exactly as you are. Together, we'll better understand what's contributing to your current challenges while building practical tools that help you feel more confident, emotionally balanced, and connected to the life you want to create. My goal is to provide a supportive, compassionate space where meaningful growth and lasting change can happen.

My approach to therapy

I take a collaborative, person-centered approach and tailor each session to your unique experiences, strengths, and goals. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, we'll explore the thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and life experiences that may be keeping you stuck while identifying practical strategies you can use in everyday life.

My work draws from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Positive Psychology, Solution-Focused Therapy, and other approaches based on your individual needs. Whether you're working through anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship concerns, or life transitions, my goal is to help you build resilience, strengthen self-compassion, and create meaningful, lasting change.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is simply a chance for us to get to know one another. We'll talk about what's been weighing on your mind, what brought you to therapy, and what meaningful progress looks like for your life. You don't need to have everything figured out before you begin.

Clients often describe me as warm, supportive, and encouraging. My hope is that each session leaves you feeling heard, understood, and equipped with practical tools that help you move forward with greater confidence, clarity, and hope.
