Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m MaKenna. I’m a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience supporting children, teens, adults, and families.

I’ve worked across a range of settings—including schools, community mental health, and family systems—which has shaped my ability to understand people not just as individuals, but in the context of their relationships, environments, and life experiences.

I specialize in helping clients navigate anxiety, trauma, family stress, and life transitions. I also have a passion for supporting parents, caregivers, and individuals in high-responsibility roles, including first responders, healthcare professionals, and other high achieving professionals.

My work integrates evidence-based practices with nature-based and experiential approaches. I believe healing and growth happen best in environments where you feel safe, understood, and genuinely supported- and that’s what I strive to create in every session.

My approach to therapy

My approach is grounded, collaborative, and practical.

I don’t believe therapy should feel overly clinical or disconnected from your real life. Instead, I focus on helping you understand what’s happening beneath the surface while also building tools you can actually use day-to-day.

I draw from evidence-based modalities, while also incorporating experiential and nature-based perspectives when helpful. This allows us to move beyond just talking about challenges and begin to experience change in a more meaningful way.

Together, we will:

  • Identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck
  • Build emotional awareness and regulation skills
  • Develop practical strategies for navigating stress, relationships, and daily life
  • Strengthen your sense of confidence, clarity, and direction

I take a non-judgmental, supportive, and honest approach. I’ll meet you where you are, while also gently challenging you when needed to support growth.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin building a foundation of trust.

We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what’s been feeling difficult, and what you’re hoping might change. I’ll ask questions to better understand your experiences, your relationships, and your goals—but there’s no pressure to share everything all at once.

You can expect a relaxed, supportive, and conversational environment where you don’t have to have the “right words” or a clear plan.

By the end of the session, we’ll:

  • Clarify your goals for therapy
  • Identify a few initial areas of focus
  • Begin discussing tools or strategies you can start using right away

Most importantly, you’ll leave with a sense of whether this feels like a good fit—and a clearer direction forward.
