Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Makenzie Foulger! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is passionate about helping people feel more connected—to themselves, their relationships, and the life they want to create.

Life can feel overwhelming when anxiety, relationship stress, motherhood changes, family conflict, self-doubt, or difficult experiences leave you feeling stuck. You may feel disconnected from who you are, exhausted from trying to meet everyone else’s needs, or unsure how to move forward. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, feel more confident, and create meaningful change.

I earned my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Utah Tech University and began my clinical work in treatment centers, where I saw firsthand the pain that can come from feeling misunderstood, unsupported, or unable to fully be yourself. Those experiences deepened my passion for helping people heal and live more authentically.

I work with teens, adults, couples, and families and support clients navigating:

• Anxiety and depression

• Relationship and communication challenges

• Women’s issues, postpartum, and motherhood transitions

• Self-esteem and identity exploration

• Eating disorders and body image concerns

• Teen-parent conflict

• Stress, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions

• Boundaries, relationship patterns, and feeling “stuck”

I especially enjoy helping people reconnect with themselves, strengthen relationships, and build lives that feel more aligned with who they truly are.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, supportive, and direct. I want therapy to feel like a space where you can show up exactly as you are—without judgment—while also feeling challenged in ways that help you grow.

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I view struggles through a systemic lens, meaning I look at the bigger picture: your relationships, family dynamics, experiences, and patterns that may be impacting your emotional wellbeing. Often, our struggles make more sense when we understand the context around them.

I commonly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) with a client-centered approach, which means therapy is tailored to you—not a one-size-fits-all process. Together, we will work to better understand what is keeping you stuck, strengthen coping tools, improve relationships, and help you feel more like yourself again.

I believe healing happens when people feel safe, accepted, and empowered to step into who they truly are.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, and I understand how difficult it can be to reach out for support. During our first session, my goal is to help you feel comfortable and understood. We will spend time getting to know one another, discussing what brought you to therapy, exploring your goals, and identifying what feels most important to you right now.

You do not need to have everything figured out before coming in. Whether you feel overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, disconnected, or simply unsure where to start, we will work together to better understand your experiences and create a plan that feels supportive and realistic. My hope is that you leave feeling heard, hopeful, and reassured that you do not have to navigate things alone.
