Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Malaika A. Small, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker committed to supporting individuals on their healing journeys. I hold a Master of Social Work from the Silberman School of Social Work and bring over 20 years of experience in education and nonprofit leadership. My practice centers women of color and BIPOC communities, with a focus on life transitions, career challenges, generational trauma, workplace stress, and interpersonal relationships. I take a holistic, restorative approach that creates a safe, affirming space where clients can process, grow, and thrive.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy and cultural sensitivity. Each person's journey is unique, and I tailor my therapeutic interventions to meet the specific needs of my clients. My goal is to empower individuals to find their inner strength, resilience, and healing by helping individuals break free from the patterns that have been passed down through generations and empower them to lead more fulfilling lives. I believe that by understanding and embracing your individuality, you can unlock your true potential and lead a fulfilling life. Together, we'll embark on a journey of self-discovery, empowerment, and healing.

What you can expect from me

My practice is a safe, inclusive space where we can explore everything from self-esteem and relationships to personal growth and life’s unexpected plot twists. I bring warmth, patience, genuine care—and yes, a little humor—into the room, because sometimes healing includes learning how to exhale and even laugh along the way. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, racial trauma, or simply trying to make sense of this season of your life, I’m here to support you. Together, we’ll work to help you thrive, deepen your self-understanding, and embrace the strength in your individuality.
