Great to meet you!

Welcome to Headway! My name is Malia and I am a Telehealth LMFT based out of Texas and Colorado. I have been practicing for around 12 years. I hold a Masters in Psychology, Marriage Family Therapy from Chapman University (Brandman) . I specialize in Anxiety, Depression, Addictions/Substance Abuse, Women’s issues, Relationships/Divorce, grief, just to name a few.

My approach to therapy

My focus areas with clients are to work individually from a relational perspective. This includes understanding ourselves in our relationships around us and the relationship with our own “healthy self”. We will work on boundaries, communication, self care, self empowerment and strengthening resiliency within yourself, your intimate relationships, friendships, work relationship, family relationships and any other community relationships you may be part of. The focus of treatment is to help you heal, cope with life’s challenges in a healthy way, feel resilient in your day to day life, build a new narrative that is supportive of who you are today.

What you can expect from me

I utilize various modalities however CBT, IFS, Psychodyamic and Person Centered are my most utilized approaches. I value the client coming to therapy with their idea of personal goals, participating in their own journey and assessing progress along the way. I am interactive with clients through talk therapy, internal “parts” work, encouragement and strength based. My goal is for clients to feel safe, heard, comforted and empowered.
