Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Malik, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Economics from UC Davis and my Master of Social Work from UT Arlington. Before becoming a therapist, I spent nearly 10 years working in business management, which gave me a unique perspective on the pressures, expectations, and transitions that can shape our lives. As a Palestinian Muslim American living in Texas, I also understand the importance of identity, culture, family, and the experiences that make each person’s story unique. I genuinely enjoy helping people and take the responsibility of supporting others seriously. My goal is to create a space where you feel understood, respected, and comfortable being yourself.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, curious, and collaborative. I want to understand you as a whole person, not simply focus on a diagnosis or a single challenge. I’ll want to learn about your experiences, relationships, values, culture, and the moments that have shaped who you are today. I believe meaningful progress starts with feeling truly understood. From there, I’ll work with you to identify patterns, uncover strengths, and explore what may be getting in the way of the life you want. I’m supportive, but I’m also willing to challenge you when I believe it can help you grow. My goal is for our work together to feel genuine, relevant, and meaningful to you.

What you can expect from me

You can expect a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free environment. I’ll ask plenty of questions because I want to genuinely understand your story, what brought you to therapy, and what you hope to get from our work together. Most importantly, you can expect a therapist who listens closely and is genuinely invested in getting to know you. We’ll take the time to build a foundation of trust and identify what feels most important for you to work on moving forward.
