Great to meet you!

I am a Child-Centered Registered Play Therapist dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and accepting environment where children can express themselves through play. I believe that play is a child's natural language and provides opportunities for emotional growth, self-discovery, and healing. Using a compassionate and nonjudgmental approach, I help children build confidence, develop healthy coping skills, and navigate life's challenges. My goal is to foster a trusting therapeutic relationship that empowers each child to reach their full potential.

My approach to therapy

As a Child-Centered Play Therapist, I believe that children possess an innate capacity for growth, healing, and resilience when provided with a safe and supportive environment. My approach is grounded in the principles of acceptance, empathy, and unconditional positive regard, allowing each child to lead the therapeutic process through play. Rather than directing or interpreting a child's experiences, I follow their lead and trust their ability to communicate feelings, process challenges, and discover solutions at their own pace. Through a strong therapeutic relationship, children are empowered to build self-confidence, develop emotional regulation skills, strengthen problem-solving abilities, and foster healthy relationships. My goal is to create a space where children feel understood, valued, and free to express themselves authentically.

What you can expect from me

The first session focuses on understanding your child's strengths, challenges, and your goals for therapy. I will meet with parents or caregivers to gather relevant background information and begin developing a treatment plan tailored to your child's needs. This session also provides an opportunity to ask questions, learn about the play therapy process, and discuss what to expect moving forward.

During your child's first play therapy session, they will be invited to explore the playroom and engage with toys and materials at their own pace. Using a child-centered approach, I follow your child's lead in play, creating a safe, accepting environment where they can express themselves naturally. The primary focus of this session is building trust, helping your child feel comfortable, and beginning to establish a strong therapeutic relationship.
